About the Children's Resilience Initiative™

Empowering community understanding of the forces that shaped us and our children.

The Children's Resilience Initiative™ (CRI) is working to increase the positive, resilience-building experiences in the lives of the children, parents and families in our community.

How?
We are creating tools and a model of services based on the elements needed for a thriving community through the lens of ACEs. In our model, all roads lead to resilience. We also provide research and resources. With understanding of ACEs and resilience, you will begin to see a change in how you can be more successful as an advocate for a child and a family.

Vision: all young people thrive and parents raise their children with consistency and nurturance to develop lasting resilience in the community as a whole.

Mission: Mobilizing the community through dialogue to radically reduce the number of adverse childhood experiences while building resilience and a more effective service delivery system.

Goals: We are striving to create a community conversant in ACEs and resilience with the capacity to foster resilience on a continuum. Please see our theory of change and outcomes for: Parents; Schools.

Who is doing this work? CRI is a team of community members led by Teri Barila of the Community Networks (Family Policy Council) and Mark Brown, Executive Director of FRIENDS of Children of Walla Walla.
